This first album by veteran bluesman Rory Jagdeo contains a number of surprises. Musically, it's all over the place- blues of course, but also hard rock, country rock, even a meditative piece with acoustic guitar and tabla all find a home here. The diversity of the material is even more remarkable when you consider that Rory wrote all the music himself. The production values on this album are first rate. Besides Jagdeo's guitar & blues harp, “Hanging On” features a fine group of backing musicians (including Rory's son Peter on violin). Tying it all together is Rory's unique and poignant voice- sometimes tentative, sometimes joyful, always honest. Well a little about my real life- when I am not fooling around with music I am a Telecommunications Analyst. I managed big Telephony Systems. Over the last year I had to painfully learned the Voice over IP (VoIP) technology. It is the real convergence of Voice, Data, & Video over a single wire. Awesome technology- I can spend hours talking about packetize data.
Other than that I religiously worked out at the gym. Love spinning and the power-pump routine. I pushed my body to the limits and I discovered that is what makes me grow mentally strong.
